“Herb Today, Gone Tomorrow!”

Did you know that the Smoothe Operator community is a bunch of super talented & amazing individuals? Each Friday we’d like to take the time to showcase some of these Smoothe Operators with you!

We are excited to introduce to you our very first Smoothe Operator Friday feature & guest recipe from one of our supporters: owner & smoothe operator of Healthy Delicious Holistic Nutrition, Andrea Sarjeant.

Some Smoothe facts about Andrea:

What is your favorite vegetable?

I’m pretty into kale. Did you know that it actually gets sweeter after the first frost? Just like us Canadians…

How do you like to prepare this vegetable/have it prepared?

Definitely in a kale salad. It’s amazing how a little massage with olive oil, salt and lemon juice can soften the rough kale leaves. I also really love kale chips. Mmm.

What is your go-to, classic smoothie?

I love to make smoothies super-healthy by adding greens. A basic banana/almond milk smoothie with a handful of greens really ups the nutrition value (and cool factor if you’re carrying it in a clear jar).

How do you nourish your roots?

I love a sweaty two-hour yoga class, but I also love to be in the kitchen, music blaring, glass of wine in hand.

Which Smoothe Operator inspires you in your every day life?

My father and stepmother have the ideal healthy lifestyle down pat, which is pretty darn inspiring. They’ve spent something like 40 days on the snow this winter, downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking. And they’re always game to try healthy, new recipes. With kale.

Now for one of Andrea’s healthy delicious smoothie creations:
